Don’t Make it Worse

You’ve had bad days, right? Of course, we all have. Have you had the day where things just keep getting worse, and everything you do just make a crappy day even crappier? (that was my afternoon, today) And just when you think it can’t get worse, it does? Yup, I’m sure you have. We all have. The trick, when you are having a bad day, is not to make it worse. When nothing is working out, and you yell at a loved one or a cashier or a police officer, or when you’re not paying attention and you get into an auto accident or forget an important item on the train…you just made it worse. You have to stop that. You have to recognize you are having a shitty day, and just let it be shitty without trying to dump your shitty day into someone else’s lap, or trying to rush your way out of it with shortcuts, bluster and bullshit, because that, inevitably, makes it worse.

Take a deep breath, look for the gift in this, look for the humor. And for Gods’ sake, don’t say “this couldn’t possibly be worse,” because it can be, and now you are daring the universe to make it worse, and you REALLY don’t need that. Just accept that your day sucks, have a laugh at yourself, and start picking up the pieces, SLOWLY, and you will get back on track.

    Totally. This:
“don’t say “this couldn’t possibly be worse”

NEVER dare the gods (or the Universe, or whatever you call the Great It)

I hesitate even to speak aloud about “worst possibilities” – that tends, in my experience, to call attention to it and draw that possibility into manifestation.
